Smart Home technology is cheaper today than it was a year ago. Why turn your home into a Smart Home? It will stand out from the other homes for sale and be memorable! It's not just the Millennials and Gen Ys desiring a home with smart home technology that keeps them secure and connected. Even Baby Boomers look for more convenience in their lives and they know how to use it!
Connecting devices to your smart phone can save energy, money, and time. There are four categories of smart devices:
Utilities - Thermostat, light bulbs, sprinkler, electrical outlet, ceiling fan, stove, washer and dryer, powered window shades, etc.
Safety - Wireless key entry, doorbell, garage door, outdoor lighting, etc.
Security - Burglar alarm, smoke alarm, carbon monoxide detector, or any sensor that triggers a call for emergency assistance.
Audio / Visual - Personal assistant such as Alexa or Siri, TVs, music, etc.
Smart Home technology is easily accessible, plug and play, and found just about everywhere! Go to your local Home Depot or Lowe's for a plethora of compatible devices. If you are already invested in the Alexa series from Amazon, they too have very affordable devices that almost become a necessity. My personal favorite is the garage door opener. 80% of home robberies are accessed through the garage door! Make your home safer!
